"La Bohème" has appeared on the stage of the Grand Theatre in Łódź three times - most recently in 2007, in an excellent production by Laco Adamik. This extremely popular opera by Giacomo Puccini - the second one after Turandot - is one of the most frequently presented works on the world's opera stages not only because of its spectacular music, but also because of its moving plot. Its characters - colourful representatives of artistic bohemia - unexpectedly encounter surprising situations far from their habits and customs, situations - which give rise to different reactions and feelings in them than before. The main character of the opera - Mimi - brings new values and emotions into their lives, and for Rudolf, an artist - painter, she becomes the object of new impressions and feelings for him, not entirely possible to fully realize.

This romantic opera by Puccini has already proven on stage more than once that its plot and the relationships between the main characters are very close and significant for the modern viewer, and the music, which perfectly illustrates the emotions of the main characters - from the first to the last bar - makes it difficult to tear one's attention away from the stage and vocal action. La Bohème is therefore a timeless work, effective but not showy, melodic but not unconventional, moving... A work that also delights and moves the modern viewer, but also encourages reflection. And the music?... Speaks for itself...
