"La Bohème" has appeared on the stage of the Grand Theatre in Łódź three times - most recently in 2007, in an excellent production by Laco Adamik. This extremely popular opera by Giacomo Puccini - the second one after Turandot - is one of the most frequently presented works on the world's opera stages not only because of its spectacular music, but also because of its moving plot. Its characters - colourful representatives of artistic bohemia - unexpectedly encounter surprising situations far from their habits and customs, situations - which give rise to different reactions and feelings in them than before. The main character of the opera - Mimi - brings new values and emotions into their lives, and for Rudolf, an artist - painter, she becomes the object of new impressions and feelings for him, not entirely possible to fully realize.
